How to Select Equipment

Although we alway recommend using our specialist fitting service, if you want to buy and fit your own products there are several key considerations and measurements you will need.

By following the guides below you should be able to buy the correct size and type of product.

What type of door is it

Conventional doors with standard butt, rising butt or pivot hinges, including glass require:
HC or HC-L or HC-X finger protectors

All other door and frame types including PVCu, Crittall, steel, glass, aluminium, non-standard pivot hinge, bi-folding doors etc. require:
Non-standard HC-N version. Contact us for details

What thickness is the door

For conventional doors up to 70mm thick use:
HC or HC-L

For conventional doors more than 70mm thick use:
HC-X

For other door and frame types including PVCu, Crittall, steel, glass, aluminium, non-standard pivot hinge, bi-folding doors etc use:
Non-standard HC-N version. Contact us for details
